As I just past my 52nd birthday a couple of months ago I have been giving much thought about my life, what I have done and what I want to do. So I decided to start a blog about my life lessons and experiences. I hope others will enjoy some of my old and new adventures/stories I blog about.
I was born in Hutchinson, Kansas and have lived in Kansas all my life. I live in a small town south of Wichita that has a population of about 4500. My parents moved here when I was in first grade, and this is where I have called home every since. I graduated in 1976 from Mulvane High School. I have been married for almost 31 years and have 2 grown daughters and 2 wonderful son-in-laws. But about the best thing in my life, next to God is being Grandma Donna to my 3 absolutely adorable grand kids who are 9,6 and 3. I can be having the worst day ever and all I have to do is think about one of them and I can not help but to smile.
Since I was a little girl I knew I wanted to be a nurse when I grew up. We hardly ever had any band aids, dressings or ace wraps in the house to use in case of an emergency because I used them all to nurse my babies and whatever animals I could get ahold of. My dream became a reality in 1983 when I graduated from nursing school. I have worked in nursing homes, hospitals and home care. My passion in nursing in IV nursing and teaching. I became a nationally certified IV nurse about 15 yrs ago. Currently I am a clinical consultant working for a medical manufacturing company that takes me all over the country teaching clinicians about IV therapy. I dearly love my job.
I am a relative new born again Christian, when I became critically ill while on the road and almost died. I knew the only thing that could help me at that time was our heavenly father. I accepted God as my Lord and Savior on April 1, 2004. I currently attend a small church in my home town, when I am home and teach 2nd and 3rd grade Sunday School.
